Annette Kussin is a Registered Social Worker and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist. She is presently the owner and director of the Leaside Therapy Centre, a multi-disciplinary clinic in Toronto. She has an independent private practice at the Centre.

Annette has been offering assistance to people for many years and uses her life experience, her experience as a therapist and her vast theoretical knowledge to help people learn about themselves and to understand better the people they live with, whether spouses, children or parents. Annette helps people to use this understanding and to use different approaches to develop a more positive sense of self and healthier and happier relationships.

Experience

Annette has over forty years of experience in children and adult mental health in clinical, supervisory and management positions.

  • She has been the Clinical Director of the Creche Child and Family Centre, the Director of Clinical Services at Oolagen Community Services and Head of the Family Therapy Program at the Hincks/Dellcrest Centre.
  • For 5 years Annette was a partner in Crisci, Kussin & Mayer, Counselling, Consultation and Training.
  • For the past 6 years Annette has been the Owner/Director of the Leaside Therapy Centre
  • Annette has an active private practice at the Centre
  • Annette provides training and consultation for many organizations in Toronto, Ontario and Canada

Specializations

For over 30 years Annette has specialized in couple and family therapy offering training, supervision and consultation.

  • Annette has training and knowledge in the area of trauma, related to sexual abuse
  • Over the past 15 years she has developed an interest and expertise in Attachment Theory, Trauma and Brain Development and offers Attachment Focused Therapy for adopted chidren and for adults with Attachment issues.
  • Annette  has received advanced training from Daniel Hughes in Attachment Focused Therapy and is part of an advanced consultation group in Attachment Focused Therapy.

  • For many years Annette has been providing training to professionals and organizations throughout Toronto and Ontario, such as Child Welfare Agencies, Children’s Mental Health Organizations and Universities.

Annette has received excellent ratings for her knowledge and presentation skills in her training.
