Background and Experience

Over twenty years work  in both child welfare and children’s mental health settings has provided me with extensive experience in child, adolescent and family counseling. In addition to my certification as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist I am also extensively trained in the delivery of Attachment Focused Family Therapy.  I have used this model in my work over the past several years  with foster and  post – adoptive children, youth and families.  Attachment security is fundamental to a child’s/youth’s optimal success. The aim of this therapy is assist caregivers/parents  to develop an understanding of the child’s/youth’s patterns of relating and guide them to attuned and attachment promoting responses.
