I believe in our power to change how we think, feel, behave and relate to ourselves, others and the world around us. It takes courage to change, not to mention to seek help from another.

As an addiction counsellor and registered therapist (qualifying), my role is to support you on a
collaborative journey towards your goals and aspirations. Often, we will talk about difficult and
sensitive topics. That’s why my priority is to make you feel safe and supported so that you can
connect to and explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. There is no room for
judgement; only acceptance.
I received my MA from Hazelden Betty Ford School of Graduate Studies in Minnesota where I
was trained in treating co-occurring disorders. Being able to tease the substance use issues
apart from the mental health challenges is essential to treating either effectively. When it
comes to substance use issues, I also offer my life experience as a person with many years in
recovery as a source of added insight.
My approach to therapy and addiction counselling is integrated, as well as evidence-based and
trauma-informed. Since each client is unique, I draw from a range of treatment approaches so I
am better equipped to meet your individual needs.
The overall objective of therapy and addiction counselling, however, is universal: to empower
you to enact positive change in your life so it can be both happier and more fulfilling.
